Dr. Drew Shessel, DMD performed a tooth implant on me, and he was an exemplary professional in every way, including his engaging, concerned attention to my questions and welfare and his perfect oral surgery. I highly and enthusiastically recommend him.

After more than two years of anguish, setbacks, and uncertainty, Dr. Drew Shessel gave me back not just my smile—but my peace of mind. My journey to Oral Surgery Specialists of Atlanta followed a long and emotionally exhausting dental ordeal. In the fall of 2023, I fainted and fell, hitting my face and knocking my four front teeth loose. While three healed, one did not. Despite multiple attempts to save it—including a root canal and crown—the tooth ultimately failed and had to be extracted. Because this was a front tooth, visible every time I spoke or smiled, the experience was incredibly distressing. As a woman who has worked in the dental industry for over 30 years, I never imagined I would find myself in this situation. After extraction, months of healing, and wearing a flipper I absolutely hated, an implant was placed and later beautifully restored—only for the area to become infected again for reasons that were unclear. I was referred to Dr. Shessel because of his experience and willingness to attempt a very specialized approach to possibly save the implant. From the very first visit, he was honest, calm, and compassionate. He explained everything clearly, never rushed me,

After realizing a need for Oral surgery due to a somewhat complicated dental issue, I made an appointment with Dr. Drew Shessel for a consultation. I was, to say the least, very nervous about this needed procedure. Dr. Shessel and his wonderful team, made the entire experience feel utterly Uncomplicated and comfortable. Dr. Shessel has such a kind and genteel manner, coupled with truly exceptional dental surgery skills, so that when all was complete, I was amazed by my rapid and easy recovery. I was also pleasantly surprised by the follow up phone call the very next day to check my recovery progress. If Oral Surgery is needed, I would highly recommend Dr. Drew Shessel of Oral Surgery Specialist of Atlanta.

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Dr. Shessel and highly recommend him! Today was actually our third experience with him - my daughter needed two teeth extracted plus a minor surgery a few years ago, my son needed four extracted two years ago and then he needed another two extracted today! Dr. Shessel is so good with kids, gave us all of the time we needed to ask questions (both at the consultation and the surgery appointments), and even called in to check on my kids after their procedures. His office staff is also very sweet and lovely to work with. Although I really hope my kids (and myself) don't need any future dental work, if we ever do we will certainly come back to Dr. Shessel!

Dr Drew Shessel removed an infected molar for me that had been compromised by inadequate treatment by a prior endodontist three years before. Dr Shessel made good decisions about conservative use of antibiotics and pain meds. I was adequately anesthesized with practically painless shots. His technique for removing the tooth was much better than that performed by two other oral surgeons on two other teeth I’ve had to have removed. He gave me very understandable explanations and care instructions. I had pain from stitches on third day post-surgery and he removed the stitches for me when they were no longer needed on the fourth day. By fifth day post-surgery I had made a huge improvement and I’m well on my way to healing. I will have him install a post for a new tooth because I can’t chew adequately on that side of my mouth. I have all confidence that this practice will do a good job. They are on top of things and have good communications. Dr Shessel has a great bedside manner and is patient with people. I’m lucky to have found this level of care!
